Primary School

A love of learning is initiated in the Walker Primary School where strong academics are paired with our nurturing atmosphere. Curiosity, creativity, and community are at the forefront of our curriculum.

Partnership between home and school is extremely important. Personal conferences and narrative progress reports are a few of the ways parents are kept informed. Our faculty work closely with students and parents to ensure the education of the whole child.
Each self-contained class studies language arts, reading, handwriting, math, science, social studies, and character education. Special area teachers also provide science, art, computer, music, physical education, library, and Spanish for preschoolers.

Classes are five days a week with several options. Depending on your tuition choice, you may bring your child as early as 7:00 a.m. and she or he may stay at school in our extended day program (EDP) until 6:00 p.m. The regular academic hours for kindergarten are 8:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Prekindergarten children and Early Learners have the option of leaving at noon or staying until 2:30 p.m. Their academic hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with an enrichment program from 12:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. which includes lunch. Early morning before-school care and after-school care are available for all Preschool students.
