Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

“Belonging is something that Walker does very well. The willingness to see the value of each individual person and bring that out is why we are here. It’s a foundational element of developing a good human being.” – Walker parent
Walker’s Commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

We believe in the infinite worth and dignity of the individual and are committed to developing a cohesive, inclusive, and diverse community where our storied perspectives, cultures, backgrounds, ethnicities and range of identities are communicated, understood and embraced in ways that value each person and enrich the Walker Community.”

  • Student Clubs and Programs

We believe in the infinite worth and dignity of each individual in our community. It is with that lens that we promote and support our student clubs. All student groups are supported by a faculty sponsor and overseen by our Director of Community Life. Some of the clubs at Walker include,

    Diversity Alliance
The Diversity Alliance promotes the constant pursuit of education on matters of anti-racism, abolition, equity, quality and how to foster those environments, to give students a voice in matters relating to diversity and inclusion within the school community and beyond. They create a safe space where students can discuss cultural diversity and effect change to make our school an even better place.

    Fellowship of Christian Students
Members of FCS meet for fellowship, discussions and Bible study. All students are welcome.

    Girls Learn
Girls Learn International is a club where students learn about and discuss current problems girls face around the globe. Each year the club discusses a specific topic.

Members of Hillel meet monthly for parties celebrating Jewish traditions. All are welcome!

The purpose of Walker’s LGBT +Allies club is to promote equality and acceptance among all students and offer a safe place for LGBT students and their allies to discuss important issues in their daily lives.

Faculty and staff undergo a variety of training each year focused on honoring each other and the work we do together. That training includes:
