Middle School

6th-8th Grades

We feel that Life in the Middle can be magical! Our students are given space to try new things, make mistakes, solve problems, feel supported and be celebrated. Dynamic English and writing instruction, dedicated science labs, four world languages, and five levels of math instruction are just the beginning.

Learning Newton’s Laws of Motion involves building a model car in our state of the art science building out of recycled materials and then racing it across the gym floor! Student-created podcasts in English class make Shakespeare come alive for our eighth-graders.

With an average class size of 16 students, every child is known, and every voice is valued. Fine arts, technology, and physical education round out a busy day in the life of a middle-schooler. Students have a 30-minute recess break each day to enjoy social time with peers outside.

Advisors and Grade Level Deans work with each student to guide them through these years. Help with self-advocacy, writing skills, public speaking and organization are all part of the Middle School experience. Walker encourages exploration and involvement. It is not uncommon for a student to be involved in football, a middle school drama production and our Aerospace club.
