Calling all Walker Families!  Save the Date! April 29 - May 3 is “Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week” at Walker.  The WSA is helping host a week of fun activities to celebrate Walker's incredible teachers and staff including a daily raffle, homemade desserts, a wellness day with healthy snacks and massage chairs, an iced tea bar, interactive activities, students writing notes of gratitude, and much more!  Please view the sign-up sheet to see how you can help say “thank you” to the amazing teachers & staff that make Walker so wonderful!

Family Input for Class Placement
As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we invite Lower School families to contribute to the conversation. The Family Input Form provides families with an opportunity to share information about their children that would be helpful as we work toward class placement for next year. 

 

The Family Volunteers Form provides Lower School families with a chance to express their interest in being a Room Parent, Buddy Family, etc. Our Community works best when we all work together to welcome new families and create meaningful opportunities to support the faculty and staff.

 

To kick off this year’s Lower School book fair and energize our summer reading plans, author John Schu is coming to meet with our readers IN PERSON on Monday, May 13! Use this flyer to pre-order a signed copy of Mr. Schu’s books, available to Walker students at a discounted rate!

 

The annual 5th Grade Recognition Ceremony will be held on Friday, May 17. Students in Grades 1-4 are required to wear the school uniform on that day. Please take some time in the coming days to make sure that khaki pants/shorts/skirts still fit after a year of growing! Blue jeans and dark pants are not part of the school uniform. 

 

The company rosters for the annual Lower School Spring Showcase have been set. All Lower School students will perform on one of two nights as the culmination of their preparation and instruction in Music. Please review the rosters to determine which of the two companies your child will perform with on either Monday, May 20 (Company A) or Tuesday, May 21(Company B).  Contact Lauren Miller with any questions.
