Primary School News and Notes

Please help us celebrate and honor our amazing, Dr. Juliana Radomski, during National School Counselors’ Week. Students are encouraged to bring homemade cards and notes over the course of the week to shower her with love and appreciation.

We are thrilled to welcome our families to visit the 43rd Annual Primary School Art Show. The opening reception will be held for our Early Learner and Pre-Kindergarten students and families on Thursday, February 8th from 7:30-8:30 a.m. The opening reception will be held for our Kindergarten students and families on Friday, February 9th from 7:30-8:30 a.m. Students are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite sports ensemble on the day of their reception. The exhibit will remain up until March 28th so there is plenty of time to view the work if you are unable to attend the opening reception in the morning. Grandparents will also be invited to view the exhibit as part of their Grand Day experience on February 12th. We cannot wait to show off all of our amazing artwork!

 

The Middle School production of "Matilda" starts at 5:30 p.m. on February 9th. Buy your tickets before they sell out! On Friday, February 9th, POTA is bringing The Cheezy Truck to the Walker campus. It will be located at the head of the MS carpool line in front of the Bowden Student Plaza. Everyone is welcome to buy a snack or dinner any time between the end of MS carpool and 5:30 p.m. The Cheezy Truck's sandwich menu includes vegan and gluten-free options. You can see the menu and pricing here. Cash and card accepted. POTA will be selling Twin Engine coffee by the cup (and the bag) in the Dining Hall. Bring some cash for an easier caffeine fix. Tables and bathrooms will be available to all. 

 

Grand Day is coming up next week! Students are invited to bring grandparents or a special friend (adult) to school for a fun morning rotation of classes on February 12th, from 8:00 - 10:10 a.m. If someone is able to join your child on Grand Day, please use this link to share their information. The school respectfully requests that parents complete the registration form rather than forwarding it to grandparents. If you know a grandparent or special friend is not able to attend, please let us know and we will do our best to make sure your child has someone to work with or is paired up with someone else during that time.

Chinese New Year is the most important holiday in China, and we are thrilled to have our families share this important day with us. This year is the year of the Dragon. Tied to the Chinese lunar calendar, this holiday is a time to honor household and heavenly deities and ancestors. Happy New Year!
