2 Students Selected for Georgia Governor's Honors Programs

This year, 2 students from The Walker School were selected to attend the 2023 Georgia Governor’s Honors Program (GHP) planned to take place at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia this summer.  The students selected to attend are Shiva Sajja in Biology/Environmental Science and Bora Acer for Computer Science. These amazing students will get to spend four weeks with other high school students from Georgia who are passionate and engaged in their subject area.

Over 4,100 students were nominated at the state level, with over 1,500 competing as semifinalists in late February. GHP is a residential summer program for gifted and talented high school juniors and seniors. Selection is based on a combination of ability and interest and is highly competitive. We are thrilled to have these two students represent Walker in this amazing program!
