FACULTY AND STAFF RECEIVE COVID VACCINE

In what is certainly one of the brightest spots in what has been an extremely difficult and sad year, Walker faculty and staff received the first of their two Pfizer COVID vaccines.

“The light at the end of the tunnel just got a lot brighter,” said Jack Hall, Head of School. “I’m so glad we were able to do this on campus for our faculty and staff.”

Christie Holman, Assistant Head of School for Operations and Head of the school’s Health & Safety Taskforce, said after yesterday’s vaccine fair that 85 percent of school employees have now been vaccinated.

Employees vaccinated at the school will return April 1 for their second shot.

“This is the best day that has happened in a year,” said Emily Adams, Chair of the Science Department and Innovative Teaching Chair, who also teaches epidemiology at Walker and has been on the front lines of helping the school navigate its safety measures. “The best part is seeing our friends are going to be protected and feel comfortable and confident coming to school.”

Walker faculty and staff were grateful to be able to receive the vaccine at the school.

“From Day One, we’ve done all of this together as one and for us to be able to come together to get our shots today meant everything,” said David Gale, Assistant Head of the Middle School.
