Swimmers Find Success at State Championships

Two Bronze Medals and three new Walker Records for the Wolverines eight State qualifiers.
The swimmers wrapped up a terrific season this weekend at the State Championships at the McAuley Auquatic Center at Georgia Tech. For the boys, Alex and Ralph Grand’Pierre, Nikhil Jaglin and Jaelin Martin qualified to swim and for the girls, Etta Rockman, Maddie Myers, Channing Arnold and Divya Gordon also had qualifying times. Alex not only broke the Walker school record in the 100 Breast (57.39), but also earned a Bronze medal. Not to be outdone, Ralph earned a Bronze in the 100 Free. The boys both swam the 50 Free with Ralph finishing 6th and Alex in 7th, separated by just .04 seconds – Ralph added his name to the Walker record books back in January with a time of 22.04 in the event. Rockman took her turn in the pool and also brought home a new Walker School record in the 100 Back (101.37), finishing 9th, while Maddie Meyers swam the 50-free for another school record (25.86). All eight swimmers also participated in the 200 Medley and Free Relays for Walker.
