Chris "Doc" Wyatt ('93): On Valuing Creativity

Chris “Doc” Wyatt founded Walker’s Film and Video Club, and graduated from The Walker School in 1993. Doc went on to attend the Peter Stark Producing Program at the University of Southern California (USC) where he received a Master of Fine Arts in Motion Picture Production.

Over the course of his career, Doc has produced eight independent films including Broken Hill with Academy Award-winner Timothy Hutton, and the multiple festival award-winning drama Coyote. Doc produced the 2005 MTV Movie Award-winning cult classic comedy film Napoleon Dynamite. He has served as head writer for multiple animated TV shows. His series Marvel's Rocket & Groot was a Primetime Emmy nominee for Outstanding Short Form Animated Program. Doc co-created the Netflix Original animated series Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters, and developed the animated series Super Dinosaur with Robert “Walking Dead” Kirkman, which is now streaming on Amazon Prime. Today, Doc is Executive Producer for an animated television show called Transformers: Rescue Bots Academy on Discovery Family Channel and also serves as supervising producer and head writer on Marvel’s Spider-Man.

Doc lives in Los Angeles. He credits The Walker School with teaching him the value of discovering his own interests. "Walker (is) a place where creativity was valued as much as academics. Walker encouraged us to make our own path through things. Walker rewarded initiative. That is an important lesson.” Doc is the proud father of three children and husband to a lovely wife. He loves to travel and has certainly not lost his sense of humor.
