Food Drive raises nearly 13,000 items for Salvation Army
Walker's annual Salvation Army Food Drive, organized by the Upper School's Student Services Organization, raised nearly 13,000 items this year, smashing the goal of 10,000 items!
Each grade in the Upper School surpassed its goal, with students donating 9,460 items. Middle School students also exceeded their goal for a total of 1,817 food items. Primary and Lower School donations brought the schoolwide total to almost 13,000 items.
Senior LisAnne Francois, vice president of SSO, thanked the community for their participation: “Thank you to everyone who helped in any capacity (advertisement, buying/counting/transporting cans, packing the POD, etc.); our success wouldn't be possible without you! SSO can't thank you all enough for your participation.”
“Because of your generosity, many families will have meals to eat during the Holidays this year. I'm so grateful Walker could serve our Cobb community in such a large way.”
