Why your gift is needed . . .
It is a reality for every independent school: Tuition alone can never cover the cost of a private education. The Annual Fund assists in bridging the gap between income and the actual cost of operating the school. It is only through gifts to the Annual Fund that we can provide every student with the exceptional educational resources required for a quality, college preparatory experience. The Annual Fund is a tax-deductible opportunity for parents, alumni, grandparents, faculty, staff, trustees and friends of Walker to provide further support to facilities and programs that are essential to our students' success. That is why a contribution to the Annual Fund is the first and most important gift we ask of every member of the Walker community.
Why Your Participation Is Vital …
Each year Walker receives significant outside funding from foundations and corporations toward our Annual Fund. In fact, in just the last five years alone, The Walker School has received $3.5 million in funding toward our projects and programs. However, every one of these organizations requires significant levels of participation from our own trustees, parents, faculty, staff, grandparents, and alumni BEFORE they will consider support for our efforts.
Without high levels of Annual Fund participation by our own community, we would have never received these corporate and foundation dollars, which helped provide the buildings, technology and programs our students use everyday. That’s why, whether it’s $50 or $50,000, every gift to the Annual Fund from the Walker community is important no matter where it falls on the spectrum.
