Preschool Extended Day Program
Registration Form (new form for 2008-09)
The Extended Day Program (EDP) is an after school program that Walker offers to parents who need to have their children stay on campus past the normal dismissal times. It is available from 2:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. for students in the full-day Pre-kindergarten and Kindergarten programs. The program is in session every full school day that regular classes meet. EDP will not meet when school dismisses at noon, during student holidays and conferences, or when school is cancelled for any reason.
The atmosphere is relaxed and the children are allowed to choose what they would like to do, including playing games, playing with a friend, and drawing or coloring. A snack is served every day. The children have opportunities to do crafts, play on the playground, go to computer lab, and watch movies on some days.
To help parents in the event of an emergency, students who are not picked up by 2:45 p.m. will be taken to EDP for their safety and supervision. Details of costs and attendance options are located in the Walker Student Handbook.
