Napoleon Dynamite Producer Welcomed Home
Referred to by Headmaster Don Robertson as "Someone who dared to be different in a time when everyone wanted to be the same," co-producer Chris Wyatt, Walker Class of 1993, of Napoleon Dynamite fame was welcomed back to his alma mater, The Walker School in Marietta, Georgia to an enthusiastic crowd of 8th through 12th graders.
Wyatt was treated to impersonations of Napoleon and Kip by several students during a hilarious presentation on the challenges and pitfalls of film making. He credited the school with giving him discipline, a sense of excellence and providing a supportive environment for creativity. When asked at the Senior Brunch, sponsored by the Alumni Association, if there would be a sequel to Napoleon Dynamite, Wyatt responded that Fox studios would like for there to be one. He commented that his friend and writer, Jared Hess, has vowed not to pursue a remake and he is unsure if he would be involved in producing if there were. Wyatt's newest project with his producing partner Sean Covel is a thriller currently entitled Crawlspace. The film will go into production in June for MTV Films and Paramount Studios.
