On behalf of
The Walker School family, Welcome.
After 37 years as an educator and 21 years as Headmaster for The Walker School, I can say with confidence that we possess the necessary tools that will not only prepare students for college, but also help rear responsible young adults. From the Preschool to the Upper School, we work diligently to provide the very best for our students. Walker believes in providing a nurturing, yet challenging environment where a top quality education is a priority. As you explore the pages of our web site, I am certain you will find an abundance of information that will help you decide what is best for your family.
There are many aspects of Walker that we address on this web site, on various brochures, or in videos, but there are some things about Walker that must be experienced first hand. Printed materials or the world-wide-web will never be able to give an accurate representation of what is truly Walker. There is a unique quality that is difficult to explain without traveling the halls of our school. From the new families, to our veteran families, I have asked many times, Why Walker? Their answers vary, but the message always carries a common theme. An intangible spirit exists in the faces of our students, during conversations with our committed faculty and staff, visits from our alumni, and in the dedicated work of our volunteers and parents. I could share countless examples of this contagious spirit and devotion that we have for our school, but instead, I invite you to visit our campus and experience for yourself. Why Walker? In the classroom, in the theatre, or on the athletic field, we strive every day to make this a place where the individual counts. Because at Walker, it is not about the buildings and grounds, it is about the people.
