Will Forteith has been named Walker’s next Middle School principal beginning July 1. Forteith will lead 34 faculty members and more than 250 students in sixth through eighth grades.

The Percussion Ensemble was awarded a “superior” rating, and the Concert Band and Jazz Band were both awarded a rating of “excellent.”

Brian's art will be on display at Kennesaw State University’s Fine Arts Gallery and Visual Arts Building from May 5 to May 30.

Fifth graders visited the Picasso to Warhol exhibit at the High Museum of Art on March 21. Students took a 45 minute audio tour of the exhibit viewing modern art pieces at their own pace.

Mohini Chakravorty, an eleventh grader, placed third in Lincoln-Douglas debate at the Varsity State Tournament sponsored by the Georgia Forensics Coaches Association.

Check out our new composting bins located behind the Bowden Library. The program consists of a steering committee of four high school students including Mohini, Izzy, Han and Samah, with the help of Sage Food Service and Middle School Dean Kevin Tilley.

On Feb. 21, Pamela Beagle-Daresta from Young Audiences of Atlanta of The Woodruff Arts Center taught the three kindergarten classes about making paper from recycled newspaper and water.
