Kyna Elliott Named Lincoln Center Teaching Artist

Posted: May 17, 2017

Middle and Upper School orchestra teacher Kyna Elliott has been named a Teaching Artist at the prestigious Lincoln Center for the Arts in New York City, a world leader in arts education. Kyna will attend the Leadership & Advocacy Lab this summer in NYC.

Teaching Artists chosen for the Leadership and Advocacy lab have a history showing the breadth and depth of their expertise to enable them to focus beyond their practice, in order to become leaders among their peers and in the wider field. The Leadership and Advocacy Lab includes workshops, panels, performances, and opportunities to facilitate experiences for the other development labs and train TAs to present their “pitch” for a leadership project to a wider Lincoln Center audience.

"The skills, contacts and resources this opportunity will provide will not only positively impact Walker's fine arts program and reputation, but further Walker as an example of a school which is committed to providing its students with the very best instruction and opportunities and continues to demonstrate and foster the artistry of teaching," said Kyna. We can't wait to hear about her experience this summer!
