At The Walker School, we strive to foster the creativity of our students across all disciplines. This is particularly true within the Walker Fine Arts program. As early as Pre-K, our students find themselves on-stage in dramatic performances and seated in a studio creating thoughtful works of art. Throughout each students' career at The Walker School, they have the opportunity to explore the arts under the direction of a group of educators who are practicing painters, sculptors, musicians, writers, and directors themselves. Students who pursue the arts at the upper school level have the opportunity to become involved in gallery exhibitions in and outside of Walker, in musical and dramatic festivals and competitions, and in Advanced Placement courses within any artistic field. Overall, the Walker Fine Arts department works to provide many avenues through which our students can expand their creativity and infuse their own personal voice into their art, thereby gaining a greater understanding of themselves and the world in which they live.
