Experiences provided by the fine and performing arts program are intended to challenge a student’s technical skill as well as the imagination. The courses stimulate a potential for creative thinking, communication, invention, and synthesis. By studying how others have dealt with problems of creative thought, students gain insight into their own feelings. By studying how others have solved visual and communication problems, students gain insight into their own method or approach. Through the arts the individual explores his or her own capacity for self-expression and begins to come to terms with the emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and physical self.
