Payton Millinor

Assistant Dean of College Guidance

Contact: payton.millinor@thewalkerschool.org

Payton Millinor graduated from The Walker School in 2000 and attended the University of Georgia. In 2005, Payton graduated with honor from UGA with a Bachelor of Science in English Education and a certificate in Teaching English to Students of Other Languages. Upon graduating, Payton accepted a teaching position at North Cobb High School in Acworth, GA where she taught a myriad of English courses. After her first year, Payton was invited to obtain certification to teach the AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) elective. AVID, a national college readiness program, focuses on the traditionally least served students in the academic middle by insisting on rigor while providing support. After four years as a general AVID instructor, Payton was named the AVID Coordinator and began to work exclusively with juniors and seniors. It is during this time that Payton was introduced to college counseling.

Like Mr. Clark, Payton firmly believes in a "Best Fit" philosophy and is excited to assist students as they navigate the college exploration and selection process. Additionally, Payton will identify scholarship opportunities and coordinate student community service efforts. When she is not in the College Counseling office, you can find Payton teaching English 12, sponsoring the Interact club, or Chairing the Walker Alumni Association Board.
